Having a teacup puppy as a pet is not really what most of the dog enthusiast would love to posses because of some health issues but there are available processes that you can adapt to keep them always healthy. One of the medical problems that they acquire is the hydrocephalus, which is caused by the fluids that are built on their head. Another common illness that they acquire is having a “low blood sugar” especially when they are not eating a lot or enough. Also, too much stress would likely to occur when they do not have their own place to stay because they don’t easily adapt its environment. These kinds of problems generally happens when they are just months old but as they grow old they still are open to more even serious problem if you are not going to take care of them.

Teacup dogs are just like babies because they need a lot of attention when they are still growing. Their small size can either be an advantage or not depending on how you handle them. With their small size they are prone to illness especially when they are just starting to develop. They can easily obtain diseases from its surrounding because of their sensitive body.

The best thing that you can do to help them is to always give them nutritional food. Feed them with healthy supplements so that they will make their body strong and tough against illness. Build a place where they can stay to keep them always warm. Do not bring them around with you when they are still months old, through this way you will prevent them from acquiring viruses that may cause for their body to become more weak. There are also available vitamins that you can give to your teacup puppies to make them healthy as they grow. Lastly, always visit a specialist or a veterinarian to guide you with the right things that you must do.

Teacup dogs are not like any other dog because they are more sensitive to its environment. If you don’t have enough knowledge on how to take care of them don’t waste your money instead buy a pet that you can manage. There are hundreds of bacteria found in our surrounding that might cause danger to anyone especially to those that does not have protection against it. Dogs are just like humans they can be very tough or they can be very weak. Know the limitation that your pet dog have and take care of them just like they comfort you.

More and more therapist, doctors and mental health professionals are becoming aware of the wonderful therapeutic benefits of involving dogs in patient recovery. Dogs are used with brain injury patients, elderly, physically impaired as well as patients in hospitals and treatment centers. The very nature of a dog, its loyalty, unconditional love and its pure joy at seeing a friend really make them a wonderful asset to any therapy program.

Therapy that involves dogs, known as Animal-Assisted therapy, is used in many different settings in several different countries. The dogs can be involved in helping with fine motor control as the patients move their arms and fingers to pet and brush the dogs as part of their therapy process. Large muscle therapy is also completed when the patients take the dogs for walks or on outings to parks and recreational areas.

Therapy dogs are not a specific breed or type of dog, nor do they have to a certain age or size. Usually therapy dogs are medium to large sized dogs but there are many small dogs that make excellent therapy dogs. Many organizations that use therapy dogs have volunteer owners and dogs come to the hospital or care facility and work in conjunction with the health care professionals and trained therapists on staff.

Therapy dogs must be very calm and well behaved. They should have no history of any kind of aggression or lack of obedience in new or unfamiliar settings. The dogs should be very well socialized and should not be prone to barking or whining as this can be disturbing to the clients as well as other patients in the facility.

Most therapists require that the therapy dogs do through special obedience and possibly other training. The dogs are taken in and out of the facility many times before they actually start working with the patients and clients. In addition both the owner and the facility will need to carry special insurance on the therapy dog to cover any possible events.

If you have a dog that loves people, is very calm and relaxed even in new situations, has lots of patience and is very obedient you may want to volunteer with a dog therapy service. The internet is a great place to start your search for agencies, or contact your local hospital or long-term care facility to find if dog therapy is being used in your area.

Nutrition for your dog is just as important to that of any other family member, if you care about your dog as much as most people do. But canine nutrition isn’t always as simple as pet food companies make it out to be. You want to make sure that your pet is getting the best dog food that they can. But there are a number of different kinds of dog food to choose from, and making the choice as to what the best is can be difficult. Let’s look at the options you have in dog food and what makes them good or bad.

Homemade dog food is popular with people that take the attitude that they want to know exactly what goes into their dogs, and with those that argue that dogs have lived fine off man’s scraps for centuries. Homemade dog food can be made from raw meats, which are popular with some, or can be cooked and mixed with things like brown rice, vegetables, and such. While it does ensure that you don’t get as many additives in your dog food, maintaining a balanced and nutrition-rich diet can be just as difficult in dogs as it is in people.

Dog food is the main source of your pet’s strength and energy and if you do not carefully prepare his meal, your pet may get sick and worse may die. As a pet owner, it is your responsibility to be careful in feeding your dog. There are reports recently that commercial dog food caused the deaths of many dogs. Learning to make your own dog food and watching what he eats will ensure the health and safety of your canine friend.

No preservatives. It is beneficial to make your own dog food because you are sure that you are not feeding your dog with preservatives. The preservatives found in commercial dog food can damage your dog’s health. Some diseases caused by deadly chemicals present in commercial dog food includes kidney cancer, liver dysfunction, immune system collapse, severe allergic reactions, behavior problems including increased aggressiveness and a lot more.

“Teaching your dog to sit is one of the first steps of dog behavior training. To some people, teaching your dog to sit can be a very stressful task! Lets face it, some dogs are just very stubborn by nature! Don’t worry though, you will have the ability to teach your dog to site by the end of this article!

Since most dogs are stubborn by nature, there is something that you have to do before you can even attempt to teach your dog how to sit. Before you go any further, if your dog is not already responding to your voice, you can go to my dog behavior training blog to learn how you can teach your dog to respond to your voice.

Once you are sure that your dog will respond to your voice, you can attempt to teach him/her to sit. Just like most dog behavior training methods, when teaching your dog how to sit, you should have some treats readily available. Remember… treats are for rewards, so only give your dog a treat when he/she does something good. Some people give their dogs treats throughout the day, which will cause them to think that they don’t have to do anything to get that treat!

Now, take your dog into a quiet room. It is important to take your dog into a room with just the two of you. Dogs (especially puppies) have very small attention spans, and the slightest distraction will cause them to lose focus on the ultimate goal- learning how to sit.

Now that both you and your dog are in a quiet room, stand in front of your dog. In a calm voice, say “”sit”". After you say sit, gently push your dogs rear end to the ground. When its rear end is touching the ground (even if you have put it there) give it a treat! Remember, dog obedience training really relies on rewarding your dog for doing the right thing.

After a couple times of saying “”sit”" and pushing its rear end to the ground and rewarding it, your dog will catch on! It will realize that when its rear end touches, it will get a treat! It will start to associate putting its rear on the ground with getting a treat, and complete the task without being assisted!

Congratulations! You have just taken the first step in dog obedience training. If you can teach your dog to sit, you can basically teach it anything that you wish! Dogs are much smarter than most people think, so dont just stop at sitting! Move on to some more tricks, and soon, your dog will be one of the most well behaved dogs in your neighborhood!”
